Directions:
Davis Whelchel was a son of DR. FRANCIS & Ann STOCKTON Whelchel, he was born
1-9-1752- 9-4-1833. He married Nancy Barnes and they had Eleven children. He
served in the Revolutionary War; he was at King's Mountain, Cowpens, he was
born in Virginia, He moved to South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee,
Kentucky, Indiana; He fought with his cousin Captain William Whiteside (His
Mothers ,Sister's Son) whom died in Surry North, Carolina. He was an Indian
scout, also a Ranger. He is buried in Olio, Hamilton County, Indiana on the
families old farm at 116 street by Guist Resevoir in Someones back Yard.
