CAPTAIN LITCHFIELD

NO PIC AT THIS TIME

Born:

Died: Madison County, Indiana

Burial: Otterbein Cemetery, Madison County, Indiana.

Service:

"Captain Litchfield is listed in the DAR Index of Revolutionary Patriots. Their records indicate that he was buried in the old County Cemetery. This was first known as the Otterbein Cemetery and is just west of Chesterfield on the Tenth Street Road. "Extensive research has contributed but little to established facts. He was an early settler in Union Township [Madison County] and was evidently associated with the Otterbein United Brethren Church. He may have come here alone.
,br> "Somewhat secluded, the beautifully unpretentious Otterbein Cemetery lends a bucolic setting for the unmarked grave of the patriot, Captain Litchfield."

From American Revolutionary patriots discussed by Raymond Davis in this biography of Madison County.
