JOSHUA BURNETT



Born: April 10, 1753, Elizabethtown, New Jersey

Died: About 1858.

Burial: Hattabaugh Cemetery, Cass Township, Greene County, Indiana

Service: May 1, 1779 while living in Georgia was drafted, CApt Richard HERD,
Col John DOOLEY'S - served 3 months

Served 3 months, Sept 1780 under General Elijah CLARK, entered Augusta and marched against the British Army

Retreated through North Carolina

Was discharged by General Clark in South Carolina.

In all served about 15 months.

Pension: Claim S 32154

Married & Children:

Had wife and sons but names not mentioned

He might possibly be the grandson of Patriot Joshua Burnett

Photo of Hattabaugh Cemetery, No Identifiable stone for Joshua BURNETT could be located in this cemetery. Only two stone int he cemetery remain upright. Maybe with further cleanup and repair to this cemetery Joshua's Gravesite maybe found.


Directions: Take US Hwy 231 south from the courthouse square in Bloomfield for about 5 1/2 miles or less. Turn right or west onto County Road (CR 450S). Go for about 1/2 mile and turn right or west onto CR 475S and go about 1 3/4 miles and the road becomes gravelled at the intersection of CR 1500W, continue on CR 475S for about another 1/4 mile and cemetery is located on the right or northside of the road on a small rise.
