I think the concept of this site is great. My ancestors, Col. Thomas Black and William (Wilhelm) Mossburg have been hiding from me for some time now. I would be overjoyed if someone might point me in the right direction to find their records.

Col. Thomas was born in 1752 in York Co., PA and died September 9, 1821 in Dillsburg, PA. His father was Thomas Black, born about 1730, place of birth/death/marriage/name of spouse unknown. Col. Thomas married Martha Bracken in 1782. She was the daughter of John Bracken and Elizabeth. She was born Feb. 23,1762 in Dillsburg, York Co., PA and died there July 4, 1833.

William (Wilhelm) Mossburg(h) was born in Germany, possibly Baden, about 1756, according to one source. Wife's name was Mary. Came here around 1777, when son, William was 6 months old. Once found William in a DAR index but lost copy and have been unable to find it again.

My daughter, Pat, is researching her line, the Bellville/Belville/Belleville line. Looking for a Nicholas Bellville. I will be happy to help anyone I can with their research. We are planning a trip to Washington the week of Memorial Day and hope to do the National Archives along with all the tourist stuff. Any tips from folks who have visited there would be welcome. Any assitance would be gratefully accepted.
